Levitron Cherrywood by fascinations toys model number lev24. What this is is a brand-new  version of the first magnetic floating top! This extremely cool altar model toy is made possible through the use of advanced neodymium iron boron magnets. This ingenious top is able to levitate in mid-air by harnessing the lifting power of two opposed, permanent magnets and is stablized in space by the gyroscopic effect spinning produces.

Levitron Cherry Wood includes a floating top, Cherry Wood lifter plate, Cherry Wood magnetic base, adjustable brass leveling legs, assortment of adjustable weights, and the Levitron physics guide. The diameter of the base is 6.5 inches.

NOTE: The Levitron has two critical adjustments that may take you awhile to set correctly. First, the base must be perfectly level. This is achieved by spinning the top and seeing which direction it flies off the base. You move the adjustable feet to compensate and then repeat this procedure until the base is level. The second adjustment is the amount of weight rings you put on the top. Too much weight and the top won't lift off the base and too little weight causes it to fly off to one side. Just the right amount of weight causes it to levitate above the base. Very cool!
